Join Us for World Cleanup Day 2024: Make a Difference in Mercury Bay!

Wahi Tukurua is thrilled to announce our second annual World Cleanup Day event on Saturday, 21st September 2024. Last year, our community came together in a remarkable way, with 65 dedicated volunteers collecting an astounding 880 kilograms of waste from our beautiful beaches, parks, and streets. This year, we’re aiming even higher, and we need your help to make it happen!

Why Get Involved?

World Cleanup Day is more than just picking up litter—it's a powerful statement about our commitment to protecting the environment and preserving the natural beauty of Mercury Bay. By participating, you're not just cleaning up; you're contributing to a global movement that unites millions of people across over 180 countries in a shared mission to create a cleaner, healthier planet.

Who Should Join?

We invite everyone in the community to participate—whether you're a member of a church group, a student, a family, or simply an individual who cares about our environment. Schools, clubs, and local organisations are especially encouraged to rally their members and come along. All you need are gloves, a bucket, and a passion for making a difference.

A Positive Outcome for Our Community

By joining forces on this day, we can achieve incredible results. A cleaner environment means safer habitats for wildlife, more beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy, and a stronger sense of community pride. Every piece of trash we remove is one less hazard to our oceans, our parks, and our neighbourhoods.

Get Ready for Action

Mark your calendars for 21st September, and stay tuned for more details on how to get involved. Whether you're a seasoned environmentalist or new to the cause, your participation is vital. Together, we can make this World Cleanup Day even more successful than last year.

Let’s show the world what Mercury Bay is made of—grab your gloves and bucket, and join us for a day of community spirit, hard work, and lasting impact.

See you on the 21st!
